The Senior Accounting Finance Analyst will act as support to the Watertown Finance team. Main tasks will center around accounting process support under the Assistant Controller, but will also assist in financial reporting, and ad-hoc financial topics with the Director of Finance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounting process support:
- Month-end Close Journal entries (balance calculations, accruals, etc.)
- Month-end Reporting Package with associated commentary
- Reconciliation of cash account balances
- Fixed Asset balance reconciliation and tracking
- Ad-hoc accounting analysis, including:
- Expense fluctuations
- Accounts receivable Aging
- Accounts receivable Aging
- Financial Analysis & Reporting:
- Revenue Analysis
- Cost driver and variance analysis
- Financial reporting
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, systems, and tools, driving efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
- Lead or participate in cross-functional projects aimed at improving operational and financial performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA not required; CPA oversight provided.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a financial role, with a focus on accounting, reporting, and business partnering, preferably within the CDMO or pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools, advanced Excel, and financial modeling.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage complex reporting requirements.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to communicate complex topics concisely
