The importance of supply chain security

With popularity of online pharmacies rapidly increasing and the pharmaceutical black-market has spread into mainstream society and become a widespread issue. In order to effectively track and legitimise the quality of drug products, health regulators have subsequently introduced new legislation and surveillance strategies, such as serialisation requirements.

Companies should always be mindful of new ways they can safeguard their supply chains, especially when the political landscape is in a state of flux.

It is important that pharmaceutical companies comply with such legislation and establish sophisticated supply chain security capabilities to ensure only authorised medication is reaching the patient.
