JOB TITLE
Senior Salesforce Platform Owner & Solution Architect
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a business-critical global Salesforce platform at the heart of Recipharm's commercial growth. As Senior Salesforce Platform Owner & Solution Architect, you will shape how our commercial teams work, make decisions and serve customers across the Lead-to-Contract journey.
You will combine hands-on Salesforce expertise with solution architecture, process leadership and modern AI-assisted development practices. From platform governance and release delivery to adoption, data quality and future commercial tools, you will have the scope to turn complex business needs into reliable, scalable solutions that people genuinely use.
This is a principal individual contributor role: no direct reports, but real leadership. Your starting point is always a commercial business problem, not the technology: you translate what our commercial teams need into Salesforce solutions... and then you build them yourself. You are the technical authority for the platform: you make the architecture decisions, you approve what goes live, and you steer and grow the work with our external development partner, while still working hands-on in Salesforce Setup and VS Code every week. You inherit functioning governance and an established steering committee; your mandate is to make delivery better and faster, not to create committees.
Working across Commercial, IT, Security, Marketing, Finance, Data & Reporting and external partners, you will be a trusted bridge between strategy and delivery. If you enjoy building robust platforms, simplifying ways of working and influencing change across global teams, this role offers the chance to make a visible impact.
MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own the Salesforce platform and commercial technology landscape, including governance, architecture, configuration, documentation and adoption.
- Personally configure and improve Salesforce flows, validation rules, permissions, dashboards, data models and commercial workflows.
- Lead the Salesforce steering committee and prioritise the backlog based on business value, adoption impact and operational reliability.
- Define and maintain global Lead-to-Contract process standards, including lead handling, MQL/SQL definitions, opportunity stages, approvals and handovers.
- Make AI-assisted development the standard working method here: we are rolling out enterprise AI coding tooling (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot or similar... final stack being selected now) and you will shape how it is used, including the discipline that AI-generated changes pass human review, tests and controlled deployment before anything goes live.
- Work with IT, Security and the CIO organisation to support governed, permission-correct AI access to Salesforce data and commercial use cases.
- Own a predictable release cadence from requirements and build through UAT, go-live and hypercare.
- Coordinate external developers and partners, including scope, estimates, timelines, delivery quality, UAT readiness and support.
- Maintain support models, service levels, monitoring and audit-ready documentation for platform sustainability.
- Shape future commercial tool needs and business cases, ensuring integration, compliance, scalability and cost-effective delivery.
- Manage stakeholders across technical and non-technical teams, translating business needs into practical system and process solutions.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Must-have requirements:
- Strong hands-on Salesforce platform ownership experience, ideally in a commercial, sales operations or Lead-to-Contract environment.
- Ability to configure Salesforce flows, data models, validation rules, permissions, dashboards and workflow enablement.
- Understanding of Apex and Lightning Web Components, with the ability to read, review or support code-based delivery.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools with disciplined review, testing and deployment practices.
- Proven ability to lead complex Salesforce or commercial systems delivery across multiple stakeholder groups.
- Strong process design and change leadership skills, with a focus on adoption, simplification and scalable ways of working.
- Experience managing releases, UAT, hypercare, support models, partners, vendors, costs and timelines.
- Clear communication skills, with the ability to translate between business needs, technical design and operational delivery.
- Strong governance mindset, including documentation, compliance, GDPR/opt-out considerations and audit readiness.
Nice-to-have requirements:
- Salesforce architect or developer certifications, such as Application Architect, System Architect or Platform Developer II.
- Experience with commercial tool ecosystems around Salesforce, such as outreach enablement, event capture, analytics, contract tools or quote interfaces.
- Experience with LeanIX, application portfolio ownership, budgets or business cases.
- Master's degree or equivalent experience.
