Recipharm in collaboration with Uppsala University presents a poster at the annual AAPS meeting
Scientists at Recipharm Pharmaceutical Development and Uppsala University presented a poster at this year’s American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) annual meeting in Chicago the 17th October.
Recipharm finances a PhD-student within the area of pharmaceutical material science at Uppsala University. The research group is led by Prof. Göran Alderborn. The title of the poster is The Effect of Compression and Shearing on the Activation of Micro-particles of Griseofulvin and it covers how tabletting and dry blending can transform a crystalline material into an amorphous (activated) material. This is of significant importance since these processes are commonly used within pharmaceutical manufacturing. As a model substance griseofulvin is use.
