Innovative thinking can offer many benefits when it comes to analytical chemistry. For example, reduced timelines in the delivery vital medicines to patients and improved efficiencies. With drug developers shifting their focus to concentrate on core capabilities and redirecting resources, the outsourcing market for analytical services is growing rapidly.

The introduction of stricter obligations from regulatory agencies for more analytical details on medicines and process development is contributing to the need for improved analytical strategies.

Pharmaceutical companies are turning to third party service providers and CDMOs which have a standalone analytical offering that can alleviate some of the pressures on internal resource and reduce time to market.

Several CDMOs, like Recipharm, are in turn actively exploring more innovative ways to add value to their customer offerings. The emergence of more systematic approaches for example means that the automation of analytical instrumentation is becoming a reality.
